Sims 3 Launcher reopens EA app

Question

Just bought and downloaded the game today. Opening EA app takes me to Sims 3 launcher and when pressing play on launcher it reopens EA app. I've tried everything I can think of and have looked through this site as well. There was a powershell script that I thought would work that I've ran from this site and still nothing. I do have a 12 gen Intel processor that seems like may be the issue but not sure. I've reinstalled, run as admin, tried compatibility mode, cleared cache in the EA app, and a bunch of other things.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

@sh09rugby&nbsp; The 12th-gen processor probably is the issue, and in that case, you'll need one of the workarounds listed in the accepted solution of this thread:

If you want to make sure that's the issue, use the Task Manager method, which is both the most reliable and requires the least amount of intervention.

If that is not in fact the issue, please run a dxdiag and attach it to a post.
