Sims 3 Launcher "There are no packages to install"

Krazykoolaid43  You can only disable the overlay when no games are open, and that goes for the Sims 3 launcher as well.  If that doesn't help, uninstall and reinstall the EA App and try again.

Over the years I have purchased various premium items from the Sims 3 Store. I can still download all these items from the online store, but once I click onto the launcher, click an item on my downloads and ask it to install the content onto my game, it brings up the 'installing screen' for about 30 seconds before confidently telling me that is has finished installing and that there is nothing to install. The selected item is then NOT in my installed items, and it is NOT in my game, and if I try installing the object again it does the exact same thing. I have tried deleting the cache files, I have deleted and redownloaded each item a dozen times, I have tried every trick and tip online and tried mods to help and nothing works. I cannot access game items I have paid good money for and I cannot figure out why. I am absolutely at my wits end here I do not know what else I can do. The game otherwise runs fine

Thank you for this! I had to make a small adjustment to get mine working. I had to uncheck all the boxes for notifications in game and in the app and then turn off in-game overlay. Once I restarted the ea app and the sims 3 installer it worked like a charm!
