Hey there!
I'm having a bit of trouble with my Sims 3 game and I'm hoping someone may be able to help me out.
I got a new computer a couple months ago and Ive downloaded all my fave games, including the Sims 3. Even though Ive had the Sims 3 downloaded for a while, I haven't actually tried to play it until today.
I clicked on my Sims 3 shortcut to try and launch the game but it wouldn't load, so I tried to launch it through the EA app instead. When trying the launch it through the app, the EA app disappears for a split second, it looks like it tries to launch the game, but then the EA app just comes back and no game or Sims 3 launcher loads. Ive tried to add a screen recording to give a visual but it wouldn't let me upload it ☹️
The game doesn't pop up in my taskbar either.
Ive tried googling the problem and it seems like a lot of other people have come to this form with the same problem, but I'm finding it difficult to find a solution. So I thought maybe Id just create my own topic and see what happens lol.
Some info:
- Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling both the Sims 3 and the EA app
- Ive tried repairing both my Sims 3 game and the EA app
- Ive tried restarting my computer
- Ive seen people ask if the CPU is a 12th or 13th-gen Intel processor because the Sims 3 doesn't run on those. Mine is neither I believe. My CPU is a INTEL CORE i7 10700F, which when I googled it said it was a 10th gen?
- Ive also run a DxDiag since Ive seen that been thrown around in these forms. Ill be honest I have no idea what most of the info means so Ive attached it below.
- I also don't have a Sims 3 file in my documents>Electronic Arts folder, but I think that's because Ive never run the game before
- I also don't have any mods or CC for the Sims 3. I do have some packs but not a ton and they've all downloaded fine!
- I also have Nord VPN installed. Ive tried running the Sims 3 with both the web protection and file protection enabled and disabled.
- I recently factory reset my computer because I tried installing ReShade for my Sims 4 game but it made my computer run REALLY slow, even after removing it. But at this point I still never tried to launch my Sims 3 game.
- I'm on Windows 11
All the other games on my PC run great! Its just the Sims 3.
Thanks :D
