Sims 3 Mods not Working

Hello, I am using Macos Big Sur if that matters or means anything. I've used mods in the past successfully years ago so I'm fully aware of the process. A mod folder has been created and does contain the required Resource.cfg file. It is in the correct place (Documents > EA > TS3 > Mods > Packages). When I start my game, I never get that popup stating my mods were recognized. What exactly am I doing wrong? I've tried repairing the game through the EA app, deleting the cache, restarting my computer. But given it's in the right spot with the right files, I'm at a loss.

Be sure to delete the cache files in this Sims 4 folder after renaming the Mods folder, just as you would after adding or removing mods or custom content.  The cache files are:

    • CASPartCache.package
    • compositorCache.package
    • scriptCache.package
    • simCompositorCache.package
    • socialCache.package

  • Apparently changing the name worked. It was originally named Mods but since it wasn't working and I was trying to see if the basic no sparkles and no intro packages would work so I created another folder named mods1 to put all my other mods in so it wouldnt replace and delete all my other mods. Thanks!
