I'm trying to install sims 3 pets but when i click install it gets stuck on preparing and after a few minutes it just says download error. Its the only expansion that wont install correctly

An update has been released which we believe has resolved this issue- please clear the cache for the EA app following these steps and let me know if you're still unable to install this pack.

@bethanymor564 Are you using Origin or the EA App? Where and when did you buy Pets?
I use the EA App, and I bought Pets years ago with all of the other expansion packs. Like I said, everything else has installed fine, but not this one!
Ive been having this issue for weeks. i really want to buy the rest of the packs im missing but im scared i wont be able to download them because pets not downloading

I've had Sims 3 Pets for over a decade but it won't let me install it. I had issues with many of the packs but I was able to work around and get them installed eventually but Pets won't budge. Any advice?
Things I have done to fix:
[1] EA Games App recovery (cleared cache)
[2] Uninstalled and reinstalled the EA games app
[3] Restarted my computer over and over again, as well as the app
I have no idea how to fix this issue. I have submitted a case to EA but nothing
How long ago did you submit your EA case? I just got a new PC and downloaded sims 3 and ran into the issue with the pets pack. ☹️
