sims 3 playing glitch

Every time I try to play as a save or create a new family, the screen goes white and says, "a serious error has occurred while loading 'wolfords.sims3' (my sims family) it is strongly recommended that you restart the application" I've restarted 4 times and even repaired the game and nothing works, someone please help me out!! I bought it recently and I don't want it to be a waste of money!
