Sims 3 seasons no weather effects to landscape

I've been playing through seasons and dont have any weather besides rain and thunderstorms. The landscape doesn't reflect the seasons, either. Im in the middle of winter and everything is still green except for the fruit trees I'm growing.

I have no mods, no cc, and have enabled advanced rendering. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the pack. I've even turned off all the weather options and turned them back on.

The festival grounds don't work, either, even though I have a lot marked for it.

Does anyone else have this? I've seen tutorials on how to use the debug system to customize lots for seasons, but if I have to do that to get snow on the ground in winter that's absolutely effin ridiculous. I feel like all I paid for was the inconvenience of hot and cold affects on my sim.

Are you sure you mean the Sims 3 not the Sims 4? If the latter not all worlds have snow because it is too hot.

  • @dt426  For Sims 3, the festival grounds have nothing to do with the weather (as opposed to the seasons), so you can set that part aside.  Having snow on the ground is dependent on temperatures as well as whether it's snowed recently.

You can choose your weather and snow cover by opening the cheats console (ctrl-shift-C) and entering testingcheatsenabled true , then shift-clicking the ground and selecting Seasons.  Please do this and see whether you can force it to snow, and keep snowing, and create a layer of snow on the ground.
