Sims 3 Showtime Hidden Acrobatic Skill

I used to have an account on sims with an acrobat who could do a ton of cool (and uncomfortable looking) tricks, like walking on her hands or putting her legs behind her head and rarely messing up. She was on the top career level. Now I have another, since I had to delete that account, who's also on level 10, but she doesn't do the cooler tricks like my other acrobat did and frequently tries flipping while grabbing ahold of her leg and failing. Is the hidden skill different from your career level? On the better acrobat I actually quit and rejoined the career because I lost my props and got the cooler moves, but that didn't work when I tried it on my new one. Do I just need to make her practice and perform for tips/gigs and are career and hidden skill levels different in his case?
