sims 3 supernatural wont open

This is such a strange issue. I'm unsure if the game does not start at all or if it crashes right after you try to launch the game. You're not the only one with this. Not sure what is causing it.

Do you have bitDefender on your Computer ?

its doing the same to me. i bought it yesterday - it downloaded fine but when i tried to run it it just said that the installation wasn't complete and told me to reinstall but it wont reinstall - keeps getting stuck. i dont no what to dooooo

i tried everything and still game wont launch 

i reinstalled both sims 3 and supernatural many times still nothing

I wonder if it's connected to issue where Norton AntiVirus would quarantine the launcher file.

Maybe it's not doing the same to the game file.

as for antivirus i allowed it in settings

Gonna ask and look around on this one. It's such a wierd issue.

One question though: When you go to documents\electronicarts\thesims3 do you have any files with xcpt in their name ? If so, what are their dates ? Could those be related to you trying to start the game ?

I have 8 files with xcpt. - what does that mean??

Those are crash logs. You get them when your game crashes. 

Could you guys with this issue try the Process Monitor. It should show if the process ever gets started or not.

It would be interesting to know if the game ever gets started and then crashes or if it never even gets started.
