Sims 3 won't open as well as the launcher itself?

I was able to install Sims 3 and its packs easily to my laptop, but I'm unable to comfortably play due to space issues, so having it on my PC would make it a lot easier, thank you for trying to help me! On my laptop, when I tried to start Sims 3 from the EA app, it gave me a prompt telling me that I needed certain files, but it didn't do that for the PC?
