Strange, annoying glitches in my Sims 3 game

I recently got the Sims 3 as a Christmas present. So far things have mostly worked fine, but I keep running into some bizarre glitches. These are the ones I can think of off the top of my head:

1. The Telescope Glitch

For some reason, whenever I try to make my Sims use a telescope, they will go up to it normally, put their eye against the eyepiece, and then teleport a few steps away. This always happens with any telescope anywhere, making it completely impossible for my Sims to use telescopes at all.

2. The Painting Glitch

The first family I made in my game evetually grew too large for their home, so I decided to move them. One Sim (she died of old age a while ago) was an artist, and I kept many of her paintings and decorated the house with them. I sold all the furniture in the house, except for the paintings, which I put in the family inventory to move with us. I got to the new house, but whenever I tried putting one of these paintings on the wall, it would show up while the hand icon was grabbing it, but vanish as soon as it was placed. They are completely invisible after this happens and cannot be moved, but are still apparently there as nothing can occupy the same wall space as where it was. If the painting had a frame, the frame still shows up, but otherwise nothing. This does not happen with paintings that can be bought in Buy Mode, only the ones that Sims have painted.

3. The Stair Glitch

The house that my family mentioned above moved into has two stories. I decided to build the house myself, since all the others were too small or too expensive. Aside from the painting glitch above, everything went normally until I went into Live Mode again. For some reason, my Sims can walk up the stairs, but after walking upstairs they will turn to wherever I told them to walk and descend through the floor, as if there were another staircase there. This confuses my Sims very badly, and it's difficult to do anything on the second floor of the house. They don't have this problem with any pre-existing houses with multiple stories, only the one that I built myself.

It would be very much appreciated if anyone could help me solve these glitches. For extra information, I don't have any mods as of yet and have tried some simple solutions (turning off all cheats, resetting Sims, etc.), but none of them have worked. Thanks for your time if you actually read all of this and are willing to help.

    have you gotten the newest patch 1.47 the telescope issue is fixed with the 1.47 patch

    which type of staicase is in the house spiral ? or regular ? do you play with walls up or down ? if the walls are down put them up to see if there is something on the wall that might be blocking them

    Thank you for the solution with the patch, I'll try it out and see if it works.

    As for the other glitches, the staircase is a normal staircase. I play with walls cutaway, but put the walls up whenever I place decorations on them such as paintings. Nothing should be blocking their way; I only put moveobjects on at the beginning of the building session to move my Sims out of the way, and then took it off. I didn't have any other cheats on, either.

    it might have been the moveobjects to move the sims out of the way that did it one thing you can try to do to see if this is what caused the stair glitch launch your game then make a save as giving the game a different save name then send your sims off to the park or something once they are out of the house go to build mode and replace the stairs send a sim home and see if they have any issues with using the stairs if no issues then you will know it using m🤭 to move the sims out of the way plus no game time is lost

    The telescopes are working again, so that problem is solved.

    One of my Sims aged up from a toddler to a child; they are no longer experiencing a glitch with the stairs, so it probably was something like what you said. I still have no idea what's up with the paintings, though.
