hi do you think you can help me!? ik this is old but it's like my last resource. ive been trying to play for HOUrs. my mac just don't run the sims. it starts, and let's me play till the part where you select a world. then it just crashes. i have a macbook pro sequoia 15.5
processor. 2,3ghz intel core i7 graphics intel iris plus graphics 1536mb memory 16gb idk if that helps
1qotcb37p81g What year is your Mac, and do you have a 13" or 15" model? I ask because that will let me figure out exactly what processor it has and therefore what graphics chip.
Please also let me know how much free and total storage you have on your Mac's internal drive, which you can see by clicking the Storage tab under About This Mac. And I'd also like to know whether iCloud Drive is active and specifically syncing the contents of Documents. You can check by opening System Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > iCloud Drive Options. Don't check the box if it isn't already; I just want to know what your current setup is.
i have a 2020 macbook pro intel i7. i have 400gb of free storage and no, icloud drive isn't active
1qotcb37p81g Okay, so your Mac is above the game's minimum requirements, but the specific graphics chip has had issues running this version of Sims 3. That doesn't mean you can't play, at least not necessarily, but I do want to mention that other players on this hardware have had unsolvable graphics issues that don't cause crashes but do affect their enjoyment of the game.
Anyway, try playing with your computer offline. You can sign into the EA App and put it in offline mode, then disable wifi before pressing Play.
If that doesn't help, please test in a new user account on your Mac. Create a new admin account, don't link it to your Apple ID (you can skip that step), open the EA App, sign into your usual EA account, repair the game (again, if you have already), and see whether you can play. You'll likely need to be online the first time, but if you get another crash, you can go offline in the new account and see whether that helps.
by playing in offline mode do you mean disabling the wifi from the computer? cause i already did that. if its not that tell me. i only tried it one time tho.
ill be trying the new account thing now and ill update later
k i tried all that and still nothing.
now it won't even launch
1qotcb37p81g Yes, I meant disable the wifi. But in the new admin account on your Mac, you would need to both repair the game and launch it in online mode once in order to play offline.
Do you use a third-party antivirus? What about a cleaner app? I'm wondering whether the game is being blocked, or perhaps some essential files were deleted; this is common with certain apps that claim to be able to clean up unnecessary duplicate files.
i had xpluginservice, i just forced it to close. i have no cleaning apps
