@uxhoj7qawagm  The section involving Nonamena's article is only if most of your content is working; for nothing showing up, you need to scroll down a bit.

@puzzlezaddict Yeah, honestly this is very confusing and like I don't actually know what im doing

I've tried using an old sims 3 folder that I had before, but it wouldn't work and then it said the cc was replaced when that folder used cc that was working.

@uxhoj7qawagm  Try using a new Sims 3 folder, as described in post 3 of the guide I linked, rather than an old one.  It's not that complicated to test, and if it helps, there are instructions for moving your content to the new folder.

I understand the process can be confusing, but that's why I wrote out a whole guide, in detail, for any part someone might need to try.  If you need clarification for a particular step, feel free to ask, but I do need to know exactly where you are in the process and what doesn't make sense to you in order to help.

@uxhoj7qawagm  Does the content show up initially in-game, then disappear later?  Or does it never work in-game?  If the latter, do you use OneDrive, and is it syncing the contents of Documents?  If OneDrive is active, you'll see a little cloud icon in the lower-right corner of the screen.  You can right-click it to see the option to pause syncing.  Please do this and then test with another new folder, and let me know what happens.

If that doesn't help, or OneDrive isn't running at all, please create a new admin Windows account on your computer.  Make it local, as in, don't link it to your Microsoft account.  You'll be able to launch Sims 3 without reinstalling anything, but your saves and other user content won't be available.  That's fine for now; the point is to see whether the Store content works in the new account.  If it does, the problem is limited to your old account; otherwise, it's more global.

    Hi there,

I use the Steam version of the Sims 3 (Purely because I use Steam) and have originally played the Sims 3 on Origin (I moved to Steam because I now play on a laptop without a disc drive)

On the Origin version of the game, I never encountered anything wrong with store content; everything would be fine. However, on the Steam version, I encountered a crash when installing Pets (Store Content would work fine) where it would close the game unexpectively (im not sure why, but I have never encountered this before but happened in the pets world, again on the other version, I never experienced this)

So I deleted the sims file to then generate a new one, which would reset to the original settings (graphics, no saves, no store content etc) then it would work alright, then when I relaunched it the second time, it would crash again. I then decided to disable the pets expansion pack through the Steam DLC, which then the launcher did not like and would refuse to open (There was no way in the launcher to disable the EP, I know in the other version there is, but in this one theres only the welcome, downloads, uploads, and installed content)

After enabling Pets, thats when I encountered the problem., the world that I originally played in with store content would then be replaced; the Super Sleep bed got replaced with a lounge chair and the MultiTab would just disappear from existance. I would then redownload them from the in game launcher, which would then say "installed to build/buy" which would normally work, however, even though they say they are installed in game, they are not there. Even when I download them from the launcher itself, they won't appear in game

Im going to show screenshots of what I mean so that you can understand what is happening and can hopefully help me with the issue

Again, I apologise for being difficult. When it comes to things like this, there is certain things that I don't understand like in the one guide, it said that it was for one specific item, this is for everything; objects, build buy items, clothing, worlds, etc.

Okay, now for some reason the store content is appearing? It said the game couldn't be played and then I closed the launcher and reopened. Now when I opened the game, the Store content is there. I do not understand, but it is there

@uxhoj7qawagm  I still think OneDrive may be the problem here, or a contributing factor.  But it's also possible that the EA database had a hiccup and didn't recognize your Steam product code, or rather that it belonged to the same account as owns the Store content.  If that happened, the content wouldn't load.  This is absolutely just speculation, but it would account for why the content works now.

The reason the game wouldn't open when you removed Pets is that uninstalling it through Steam doesn't remove the relevant registry entries.  If you'd still like to remove Pets, uninstall the pack again and delete the entries that say Pets in these sections of the registry:

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Electronic Arts\Sims(Steam)
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Sims(Steam)

Be sure to delete only the entries for Pets, not anything else.  And I would strongly suggest backing up these two sections of the registry, the ones that say Sims(Steam) before proceeding.  That way, you can restore them if you accidentally delete the wrong entry or you want to play with Pets again.

As a side note, I delete these registry keys when I don't want to load certain packs, and restore these sections of the registry when I want the packs to work again.  I don't have to uninstall the packs—they won't load without the associated registry keys.  It's my own janky pack selector and much more convenient than uninstalling and reinstalling the entire game.  But it's not for beginners; you need to be sure of what you're doing and very careful.  I say that as much for anyone else reading as for you.

Finally, if you want to play a save that's been exposed to Pets already, you can't remove Pets without corrupting the save.  You might not even be able to reuse these sims either, although you can almost certainly save them as CAS templates if you just want to preserve their looks.  So if you want to play without Pets installed, start a new save with new sims.
