The Sims 3 Season - Games continually crashing

Hi

After I installed the Seasons my sims game continually crashes.  It doesn't happen when doing the same thing, it could happen in CAS or when my sim is travelling home, or just when they are moving to the kitchen.  I don't have any mods and I have ran the game without any custom content, I have also had to reinstall the games from scratch due to upgrading windows and still have this issue. Gameplay can vary from 5 minutes to 30 minutes. I have all EP, except the 70's/80's stuff pack.

I am running Windows 8 (previously Vista and had same issue).   I have increased the RAM in my PC to 4GB (The maximum it can take) and upgraded to a new graphics card.

DX DIAG report

Operating system: Windows 9 Pro 32-bit (6.2, build 9200)

Processor: Intel(R)  Core (TM) 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40Ghz (4 CPUs), ~2.4Ghz

Memory: 4096MB RAM

Graphics Card: AMD Radeon HD 6670

Driver Date 18/10/12

Any help would be helpful.

thanks

There's nothing that catches my eye except that the 32 bit system and the RAM but that should not make you crash after 5 min.

I would check if there are new graphic drivers though. That might help.

Also do you know if you also have a graphic chip in there (that part is kinda hard to read with all the spaces and cr gone) or 'just' the card ?

I don't know about the graphic chip.  Do you know how I would be able to find out about that?  I think its only the graphic card though.

Ill check for the graphic card driver but im sure that was the most up to date one.

    thanks for your help

Usually you can right click on the desktop and it says something about switching cards if you have both.

Is it a laptop or a desktop computer ?

    No I don't have that then.lol.

Its a Desktop PC.  I had windows Vista and the sims did exactly the same thing.  Its so frustrating.lol.

  • Try the crash log analyzer at mod the sim (just google). It's a third party tool but it can give you some indication what's wrong. Might be hardware related. It's not fool proof but it can help in some cases.
