😕mileyfrustrated: I play Sims 3 pets, it hardly crashes but now since I DOWNLOADED SEASONS, nothing to do with Sims works not Sims, Sime 3 Pets NOTHING!!!!!!!!. This has happened to me before and I am sick of it and all the pets players are too. I always have to DELETE EVERYTHING! On my game and re install everything! Stupid idea to let people know that it 'works' when the Sims team didn't even try it themselves and if they did it probably failed or they just have the best computer that has never crashed!
If the Sims don't find a way to fix this, I'll fix them by giving them a slap on the face for telling everyone this works when its a fail!

Also, Reality wise.. It will never work so don't stuff that will make your computer die. Mine had the issue 0x0000 what ever and that stuffed my whole computer and Sims up on MAC! They should take Seasons off the shelf until they realise that they neeeeeeed to fix it! We all have this problem and there is no way to fix it. Sorry to everyone...😕mileyfrustrated:
SpoilerSorry for my anger, but this game really sucks - Anonymous13 years ago
Seeing this one year later....
I don't think they're fixing this because it's already one year later and my game always crashes. It just crashes everytime i picked a lot for my sim. Well... it started when i installed island paradise...
I had seasons installed and it was the only game I was able to play until I got the newest expansion pack "island Paradise" and installed that and now I can play all my expansions that I have.

There were problems up to and just after Seasons. Many Mac simmers could not play after that. Things were then dramatically improved with patch 1.63, which included some fixes for us and stabilised the game on our operating system.
For folks still having problems:
Unfortunately a lot of TS3 players encounter problems when playing the game on their Mac. These can include crashing and freezing. A lot of these issues can be avoided or at least improved by the following measures.
Firstly, manually reset your RAM while playing. See BluebellFlora's guide on how to do this: http://bluebellflora.com/the-sims-3-on-a-mac/resetting-ram-during-gameplay/
I restart my computer before I play TS3. The memory used as seen in Activity Monitor is at about 3GB after the restart. If I open the Launcher it goes up to around 11 GB (that's all I've done - just opened the Launcher!). At this point I reset the RAM. Then I hit play and get through the opening sequence. I then press cmd-return to put the game in windowed mode from time to time while playing (and always before saving or using CAS). That way I can keep an eye on the memory and reset RAM if necessary. Being in windowed mode also allows you to close the game using force quit if it freezes up - it's better to crash the game than your whole computer.
Second tip is to save frequently. I save at least once per sim day. Use the option to Save or Save As, rather than the combined Save and Quit.
Make sure you are patched up to date. The 1.63 patch included fixes for Mac simmers that did actually improve the stability of the game on our operating systems, so it is well worth updating.
Caspin I had this problem as well,
There is NO way to solve that, its not your computer, its sims 3 seasons.
The company is trying to fix it.
I suggest you remove sims 3 seasons off your computer and play without it until they find a solution.
If you have a mac, go to sims 3 uninstaller and only uninstall seasons.
After that you should have no more crashes but neither will you have seasons or any seasons content.
I don't have the solution but this is the best thing to do if you want to keep playing sims.

Hi
But there is a way to solve it. As I mentioned before, Seasons was a game-breaker for many Mac simmers when it was first released. However the latest patches (anything higher than 1.63) stabilised the game for the Mac operating system. As long as your game is patched, and if you have plenty of RAM and purge it manually while playing, your game may well be able to run with Seasons installed. I play the game on an iMac with Seasons installed (as well as most of the other EPs and SPs) - it can be done!

My Sims 3 Into the Future crashes after 5 minutes of trying to create a sim. I just dowloaded Into the Future, Generations, and University Life from Origin. I also have Pets, Late Night, Ambitions, Supernatural, Highend Loft Stuff, Town Life Stuff, and World Adventures installed with disc. I just updated all the patches and tried uninstalling and reinstalling all of the games but still no luck. I have a Macbook Pro 15-inch, Mid-2012 2.6GHz Intel Core i7, 8GB 1600 MHz DDR3, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1024 MB, OS X 10.9.2. This is what the error message says after it crashes

You are running out of free memory while playing. It's a problem resulting from the way Cider was used to make the game compatible for Macs. Using CAS is a particular memory-hog.
You can reset your RAM while playing. See BluebellFlora's guide on how to do this: http://bluebellflora.com/the-sims-3-on-a-mac/resetting-ram-during-gameplay/
When using CAS I purge RAM very often. Even then, you may find that you cannot use CAS for extended periods of time.
