'Unknown Error Occurred' - MacBook Air - The Sims 3

Hi, Bought The Sims 3 yesterday on Origin Downloadable Game. Came with High-End Loft and Late Night included in the £30 price. Installed them one after another, then said update was required. Insta...

Right, I have done the following with no success. Still same message coming up:

- uninstalled The Sims 3, High Tech EP, Late Night EP.
- deleted all the things as advised in Library/Cache
- downloaded master update
- installed everything again in order of release date

What other avenues do I need to try?

I am so annoyed this 5 year old problem has never been properly addressed and we have to go in to hidden folders on our laptops to fix it. Absolute shambles. EA should be ashamed.

I'm back to square one. Everything uninstalled, all data deleted.

New question, then.

How do I get Sims 3 plus both High-End Loft EP and Late Night EP all working correctly?

    OK, so you have uninstalled and cleaned the computer of all TS3 and Origin files? In that case start from scratch, download a new copy of Origin and start installing the game using the directions I posted previously under "Using Origin". Once you have a fresh installation of the game, open the Launcher and see what happens. Monitor the RAM usage using Activity Monitor while the Launcher opens. Purge the RAM before clicking Play on the Launcher.

    Does it work now or still an error?

      Do I install the updates when prompted? Or use Superpatch update on The Sims 3?

        Screw this, it still isn't working.

        Installed them all again completly with no updates and still the same **bleep**-poor message.

        Absolute joke.
