The only one that has a viable workaroud is the last: if you own Ambitions, buy a Harvester at the Consignment Store (or in BuyDebug) and have your sim wave it around in the vicinity of the insects.
For the camera rotation, how are you trying to do it, and what happens?
For the clicking twice, does this happen in windowed mode too?
For the camera rotation it might be due to the double clicking. In the bottom left of the UI I just clicked the arrows to rotate and it did not happen. I have not tried windowed mode. Can that be selected in the settings once the game is open?
