Weird eyes on sims 3. Caused by CC?

So I finally finished installing the sims on my laptop. I downloaded some custom content and then installed those, but when I finally launched the game I noticed the eyes looked really weird.

There also was a problem with when I tried putting on lipstick on my sims. Normally it would have a shining glow or something like that but instead they all looked mat, no matter how much I tried to change the colors or pick a different one, they all looked the same.

I have spent 6 hours trying to google solutions, deleted all cc, factory reset, everything I could find I tried. But I can't seem to find a single person who has this problem so I really hope someone could tell me what is wrong.

Here's a list of all the things I tried:
- Factory reset
- Deleting all custom content
- Deleted savedsims
- Deleted:
CASPartCache.package
compositorCache.package
scriptCache.package
simCompositorCache.package
socialCache.package
- Reinstalling
- Change the textures of the game to the best

I downloaded the sims 3 from origin and am running it on a macbook retina.
I really hope someone can help me or knows what is wrong, because I am absolutely sure it isn't supposed to look like this as everything looked normal on my computer.

  • hey. sometimes custom content is set for a specific color and when you click to change the color the gloss disappers. it's just that whoever made the content, did not think to make so that the gloss stays on wen the user change the color. the same concept applies to the eyes. to go back to the gloss effect try removing the make up with the box with an x on it and then reselect the colored product as it's now reset itself to the creator's concept. if color still doesn't correct then back out of CAS and start into it again. if it's still happening or happening to all of that type of make up uninstall the base game and all expansions and stuff packs and then reinstall just be sure to use back ups to retrieve anything you don't want to lose. hope this helps.  🙂

try in create mode, when you click on eyes up at the very top should be a search kinda looking object, it lets you edit all aspects of the eyes. see id you can play around with that and fix it there

I've tried this before as well but nothing seems to work for none of the glosses. My biggest struggle however is with the eyes which doesn't really have any problems with the make up, or well the eyes cause the make up to also look back. I have already deleted all of the custom content and tried playing without but this bug stays. I am now trying to reinstall all of the expensions and hoping this might work..

Maybe you've downloaded some default skin that has its specific eyes?
