Filmmaking Career - 'Get Famous' Update
Going to speak my mind of what has bothered me for a long while.
This should have been included in 'Get Famous' expansion pack:
- Filmmaker Career; branch Career in VFX & Editing or Director/Executive
- Business Start-Up (Production Company)
- Screenwriter / Playwrite Career Branches for Writing.
- Live stage performances for Theatre, with three or so lot theatre venues similar to Cinemas - or could have doubled as the same lot.
- Public Relations/Publicists & Agency Career; introducing a Job Assignment system to train other Sim Actors to give them roles for other careers. Or promote, and utilise the social media presence for celebrities, or themselves - maybe as a branch career in 'Influencer'.
- Business Investor crossover, when the Budget runs dry for the Filmmaking career, could seek weather Sims to finish the Film/TV Show.
- They could have added a 'Papazarri' as a career branched with 'Investigative Journalist', to add more use to the Photography skill. Morals vs Money, etc.
- Contractor & Debtor Career; which branches from working/managing miserable office job, to making Devilish Deals with Sims; the dark side of Fame, would suit evil Sims. It would give 'Curse Perks', or 'Life Wager' (Skull and Signature). The only way to reverse it is to speak with someone who is in the 'Criminal Career' who can break-into the Sim who made the deal with your Sim, change the document, or steal it. Doing it yourself as your Sim risks your own life/livlihood.
But, with this - you can create short TV edits that can appear on SIM TVs/Posters throughout all of the neighbourhoods. Players could shoot different scenes with their Actor sims and could have utilised the camera mode in Sims 4 a whole lot more to capture scenes for the TV Show/Film, and then choose how it is edited together. Could generate blooper roles of Sim Actors making mistakes, like Disney Pixar used to do with their Animation voice-over team, film slate and all. Giving anyone who watched a 'Playful' moodlet.
- Teen Jobs at Cinema/Theatres.
- Allows Short Film projects for Teen or Young Adults, and the only way to get into the Filmmaker Career is to have 3 Gold class-winning short films to start the Filmmaker career in Adulthood, or do a deal with the Contractor/Debtors. Hell either way. Reality is far more ridiculous. And if you speak to anyone in the industry when you are not, they will avoid and cuss at you.
They could have added red carpet premieres for all Cast & Crew's work, which could be at a 'Chinese Theatre '-inspired lot, which doubles as a Cinema lot, as a new 'Dating Venue' or 'Outing Venue'.
- Made a larger event for awards, or a separate event. 'Oscars', 'Golden Globes', etc.
- Sim Streaming Service; to play all Sim Community-made Films/TV Shows across the entire game platform, worldwide - accessed through your Sims TV. Getting real-time ratings/reviews from other Sim players using their playable character profiles.
- Could have unlocked 'Immortalise' by having an Artist paint your Celebrity, and pretty much makes them live way longer, but also if something happens to the painting, the Celebrity meets the same fate. But only by unlocking the 'Eternal Artist' buyable trait, which makes sure Celebrities don't die - or age. Unless something happens to the artwork. It will also say how old the painting is. The problem is, if the Artists skill is too low with 'Eternal Artist' trait, the Sim becomes the same quality of the painting forever.
- Charity/Foundation Business; Allow others to donate to research real-world problems for Sims, or if you're an evil Sim, scamming people (like in the real world with people who rose to fame from silly videos, and compulsive lying). And unlock either 'Humanitrian' or 'Ponzi Operator'.
- Make it so others can steal fame from you if people get too close, or the wrong people.
- Any divorce/separation causes fame to halve for each Sim, instead of staying on top all the time.
- Documentarian. Where you could make videos to train a certain skill for any Sim watching.
- There is a real-life struggle to do anything in 'Get Famous', that should be more evident. Meaning, that even with booked gigs you can get replaced for no reason, you can get paid but no reputation when the show/movie is written off, or cancelled due to 'no more money'. Or straight up denied by roles with comments like "Really? You??.. Come on.", "You weren't the right fit", "It was an executive decision", and with that all, if your Charisma is high enough you can convince them otherwise.
- Book and Autograph booth signings at 'Geek-Con', or 'Bookstores', etc.
- Model Career? That would be huge for a lot of people, I can mainly assume those who are most interested in fashion.
I could go on, got many more ideas, but I think you all get it.
