Ghosts and Asylum

So just throwing this out there even tho nothing makes it into the game but, as I was watching a video from someone doing a challenge for the sims called the Asylum challenge I thought how inspiring and cool it would be that If they ever went along with adding a Happy Haunts expansion to also include a Mental Asylum lot for are insane sims that acted as a Commercial lot in the sense that the residents wouldn't pay lot fees and what not and acted as if it was admitting your sim into an Asylum. like daily tasks they had to perform classes within the building . daily medications.. if the acted up would get the straight jacket and so on. wish sims 4 had a store like the sims 3 did but, have an open access to outside mod makers and developers to add content for both console and pc having limitless content being added to the sims would be great.

Oh dear that’s never going to happen. Happy Haunts, sure, but mental asylum?
It’s solely up to the individual player to set up a story like this, or modders/ cc creators to add this kind of feature.
In no shape or form will this be coming from EA/Maxis.

The ‘insane’ trait has already been renamed ‘erratic’ in 2018 for various reasons.
Any mental illness or disability related gameplay has to be treated carefully or named appropriately.
This is also the age of PC and making sure not to hurt anyone’s feelings by being insensitive or uninformed is incredibly important in the entertainment industry nowadays. ??‍♂️

For sure. did say it would never make it. just thought it would be an enjoyable feature to think about as I just got done watching One Who Flew Over the Cukoo's Nest. as for how delicate Maxis/Ea is being is enough to drive someone insane

Of course, I acknowledge you did say that.? I was just stating the obvious. I absolutely agree that plenty of pc related stuff (not just talking about Maxis) could cause anyone to blow a fuse. I also think some elements based on society need to be treated very carefully in teen rated games.
Now, I need to add that I’m one of the so called ‘privileged’ folks, so whatever hurts or doesn’t hurt someone else’s feelings is not always easy for me to understand, especially if I have no experience being in that situation. I just have fun playing the game without feeling attached to it or affected by it on a deep, emotional level.
I’ve had plenty of haunted asylums in my game too and for some things to work...I do need mods... :#

I’m happiest with the game when a system is put in place that I can utilize to tell my own story, such as the club system, the calendar etc. Lot traits, or a system that makes lots behave a certain way would be a great addition to tell this kind of story.

ETA: One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest = great movie!
