The Ceiling Thread 🎨

I'm wasting way too much time on the great hall ceiling again.

I was already trying to use the Bakie's star flooring as a ceiling, and now I found a "fog emitter cc" by RevyRei which improved the effect even more.

I have to be careful because it's very heavy on my laptop graphics, but it's very close to what I had in mind!

12 Grimmauld Place looks better now. Though I wish we could add floor cracks to ceilings as well.

@Simmingal It is unfortunate. A cousin of mine has a a living room which walls are white but the ceiling a nice ochre red. It is stunning.

yeah as unfortunately we don't have flooring that is just a color (yet)

i wish they would add ceiling white to catalog and give it some many extra swatch options with different colors

I think I’ll have to go looking for some cc then as I just want some painted ceilings, not textured, in my current save!

Love all the pics of beautiful ceilings! When I put my ceilings in, I used the icon above the wall tool in build mode...it has the ability to do single tiles and area tiles...easy, peasy. B)

Can anyone else not add ceiling tiles to basements? I can only add them if it has a room above it and those that don’t I can’t add the tiles. I’ve not seen anyone mention this.

I have not had problem with changing ceilings in basements yet but it shows two if the ground level is not the ceiling level which is slightly confusing

I came to this thread specifically to see whether anyone had encountered the basement ceiling issue.

Which basement ceiling is the real ceiling that I should paint, the upper one or the lower one? It's hard to see all of the lower ceiling, but the upper ceiling doesn't seem to be divided up by room.

I have finally had time to test out the ceilings and I love this update. For modern homes, I don't mind the white ceiling but older semi-historical buildings really needed this.

About a month ago I built a wizard tower and I intentionally took pictures without showing any ceiling but not I finally don't have to worry about that anymore.

Even the basement with the cards table where sims can win or loose money over a game of poker sabaac finally looks like it should.

I am also thrilled to be able to go into free camera mode while in build mode. No I can change the camera like I want to without loosing the option to undo changes.

@netney52 the ceiling worked for my basement. With and without a room above the basement. Make sure to have your walls up to see the ceiling. Having the walls half up only shows a black surface where the ceiling should be.
