I would like the option to own more than one residence in the sims 4. Maybe every summer my family from Willow Creek stays in Tartosa. I would like to be able to have them own a home there.
Also, I would like a toggle for teens and younger to have the day off of school without it impacting adult work schedules.
Have you found having a student take vacation days, causes them to fall behind? Curious, if so. Why give them vacation days in the first place?
Missing school causes responsibility to go down and causes their grades to go down. I do 4 week long seasons so if I have my sim kids skip school for 3+ weeks it tanks their grade and they don't accrue enough vaca for a proper summer break
Do you play with mods? If so, LittleMsSam has a mod that allows for school holidays.
You could go to the trouble of creating "holiday" daily for the amount of time you wish for your students to be off of school. Just make sure you tick the no work/no school when creating it. I use MCCC now to have them temporarily quit school. Then if need be I cheat up their grade before they resume school.
The entire world doesn't use all-year-round schooling, after all.
I used to just use freerealestate on to have my Sims live in whichever world I wanted them to live in. Works out really nicely for a honeymoon, for instance. Then just do the same to put them back in their original residence. It's not quite the same, but it does work, at least for me.
I don't play with mods. I've thought about it but genuinely I'm scared to take that leap. The Sims is pretty much the only video game I play and I'm afraid of breaking it. I've seen so many cool mods and I'm so tempted but I feel like the game is already barely hanging on in terms of working. I'm also not techie so the maintenance aspect of mods is a bit overwhelming.
Right? That's why I feel like we should be able to have school holidays when we want. I do create a week of summer holiday and a few days each season to create a break but then the adult sims also have to take the day off. I guess it's the best I've got for now.
I've done this before too. I put pictures up all over my houses and I'm worried that the pictures will get lost when moving from house to house. So far I've not had that happen though. I appreciate your suggestions, they are well thought out.
One of the features I was hoping would be included in For Rent.
Not a perfect solution, but might work for you as far as having a second home. You can buy a business and build it to look like a home, hide the register in a closet or an unused basement. I've done this a few times when I gave my sims beach homes in Sulani. I've even made the register super tiny and hid it in some shelves. And I do use the holiday feature in the calendar for kids summer vacations.
