NO. Ugh. The "buying it on the computer" part is dire. Not because it's not a very magical way to obtain something magical (after all, etsy is full of spells and curses lol) but because the more packs I get, the more I am afraid of accidentally selecting an option that maxes out two skills, three relationships, four collections and an entire aspiration. I'm exaggerating, but I am aching for some systems to be rethought so that it's harder to achieve what are ostensibly the main challenges of a pack. Some things (like doing well in university) are still pretty hard work, but that's a bit jarring when so many other things are practically done for you.
I will say, though I agree with your excellent points, I understand the appeal of having one or two sims that are basically gods. It would be more fun if there were serious drawbacks to those powers, but a sim living life on easy mode could have interesting social implications. I might just be trying to convince myself that I like the idea. u_u
