Black History Month

I absolutely love the sims game.  I have played the Sims since I was little and sims 1 first came out. I know inclusivity can be a tad difficult,  but I've seen it happen throughout the life of the sims 4. I was expecting a little more than "shout outs" for black history month. The items received in November cannot be accredited to "black history month" items as black history month is in February. I would have appreciated items, more clothing,  hairstyles, anything for this month in particular. I now play on the PS4, so shout outs for black created mods and CC aren't something that would be applicable across the board. Just a concern of mine.

  • I'd say they did in the past and with the latest pack that just came out some hair styles are fire and represent black culture especially the braided ones. So it's getting there.

  • I agree ! We shouldn’t have to buy packs or have to use PC for mods just to be included . A base game updates on POC and hairstyles would be very nice !!

  • They've added quite a lot over time to the base game. From more afro hairstyle choices and a few years ago they also did a SDX Juneteenth which was some jersey's and food (bbq ribs, fried fish plate). Then when they collab with one black creator to have proper bonnet and dugrags, plus a robe as well. Then Ebonix making a set or two of some intricate nails. Don't really expect anything all the time when this month or something else comes around. There was such a lack of good afro hairstyles in base game at the beginning. Now? Far better choices.

  • I think that R&L started to really show/try more African inspired hair and fashion. But it is behind a paywall, and more formal aimed. I find some of these hairs very gorgeous.

I admit there are a lot of straight haired assets that even have similar versions cross pack, bloating the straight hair category. I have too many hairstyles for my main, that I can't even use all the ones I like. So the imbalance is obvious.

Plus, I do think there are a distinct difference between North American  African-American styles, and regional/cultural African styles.
