I don't want whims back. They were totally useless and the creators forgot about them and did not add anything new with new packs. Wants are way better in my opinion than whims ever were. Fears, I could live without, but it's still something to spice my Sims' lives.
Though, overhaul of wants to work more like they did in Sims 2, especially the ability to reroll unwanted wants would be very helpful. Also, better variations would be appreciate. It's quite boring if I always have want to listen to Sim's favourite music, flirt with someone they hardly know, or insult someone I want them to become friends. But overall, wants are more fun to play with for me, than whims ever were.
i know it's not everyone's cup of tea but i played The Sims 4 for 5 years and whims used to exist in The Sims 4
i used to want "wants and fears" but it didn't turned out the way it did in my opinion
The Sims 2 did it a lot better in my opinion
i now want whims back but i also want "wants and fears" to stay for the others so it can become optional to turn whims on/off or do wants and fears on/off or disable them all together for those who doesn't want either of them
that's why i've thought about this👍
