Can we also be customers?

Hey! So, I like to play with different households/do rotational gameplay. I was thinking it would be really cool if businesses owned by one household could function autonomously while I'm playing another household. For example, if family A owns a coffee shop or a retail store and I'm playing with family B I could still go to the coffee shop or retail store and play as the customer instead of running the business. I don't mind doing business things (I really like the small business model) but I would also like to be the customer. How cool would it be if we could go get prom dresses at an actual store instead of CAS? Or maybe hang out at a coffee shop with some friends and drink coffee/drinks? I can do that with the spa like services but I don't really get to interact with anyone but the massage people or the people doing the nails. The place feels pretty abandoned (which is okay because it was on the side of town that was technically the "resort" that I had created... if we got this feature, it would make the neighborhoods feel more alive and let player-owned businesses become real destinations instead of lots that only work when actively managed.

I made a resort center--- but didn't realize I could make a schedule and make it run. I also made like a diner thing with a library. I haven't tried playing it quite like that yet... but my other sims household owns it so I'm hoping that it will work out... I don't know if this is what you're referencing and if not, could you clarify ? I have business and hobbies and I get the small businesses/small business model and they work just fine. I'm talking about like the resort center (has a dining thing, a tiki bar, dance area, pool, message tables). Then the spa place, I did realize I could go and get my nails done and my massage but couldn't really hang out with anyone bc no one was there... yesterday I figured out you could assign people to the lot and to a schedule so I'm hoping that fixes it feeling so "alone" when you go to these properties!

  • I mean you can basically do this already. When playing in another household, you just have to click on the lot that the businesses are on and select visit as a customer. I have tons of businesses in my save that are owned by other households and I visit them as a customer and they have to pay the entry fee and you'll see the business owner doing stuff as well as any hired staff that business has.
