CAS: Assigning Place of Birth

I think being able to assign a place of birth for your sims would add some more depth to story mode. This could be done a couple of ways. One, in CAS you select from one of the worlds as your sim's birth place. (A child's place of birth does not have to match parents.) Two, the game assigns a birth place for a sim based on the world they're born in. (For in-game already existing sims their birth place would be the world they're established in.)

For actual gameplay features, I think adding (something along the lines of) 'pride' or 'detached' traits could really enhance and zest things up, especially for legacies and royal dynasties. For example, a 'pride trait' might be a sim who loves their place of birth, and more easily connects with other sims who hail from the same birth place. Another 'pride trait' might be real estate or rent being more affordable for a sim living in their place of birth, versus living in another world. An example of a 'detached trait' could be a sim who has lost connection with their place of birth, and might feel awkward around sims who share the same birth place as them. A 'detached trait' could also be a sim running from their past (insert your own dramatic backstory) and tries to distance themselves from anything that reminds them of their place of birth - such as culture - maybe a Moonwood Mill sim becomes upset or aggravated when discussion of werewolves comes up. There could be special traits for story progression like 'reconnected trait' for sims who find their way back to feeling a connection via positive encounters with sims who share the same birth place. Or, something like 'alienated trait' for sims who are away from their place of birth for too long which causes feelings of sadness or isolation. Just some ideas! (And of course, with the option to turn 'Assign Place of Birth' off entirely for gamers who don't want it.
