CAS clothing styles

Why doesn't CAS tell you what style the clothes are? I create a sim and dress them in a style that matches their personality, but I have no idea what each clothing piece is tagged as. And then my Sims might hate or love what they are wearing, and I have no idea what item!

I want to hover over a clothing item and see what it is tagged as. Or at least be able to do a check to see if my Sims' preferences match what they are wearing.

Same with the build items. How am I supposed to know what is Queen Annne decor or Fairytale style?

  • I never really quite knew why fashion style had to be a like or dislike. I find it rather troublesome as well. I often keep all fashion styles neutral.

The build items, I do understand a bit due to Dream Home Decorator having a career that is based on decor styles. Outside of that, it just sort of makes Sims annoying, because they will autonomously go to an item they either like or dislike to give a reaction... even if said item isn't anywhere near them when the action enters the queue.

I think it would be nice if the likes/dislikes regarding decor should only be generated when your Sim is playing as an interior designer and it only affects the "client Sim/s".

Anyway, with both things, you can use filters when you are in CAS or Build/Buy mode. The problem is that some things may clash in terms of what you think fits a certain style and what doesn't with what the game considers it to be. Then there is also the problem of one style having many assets, while another has barely any.

As said, I kind of think those two like/dislike categories should stay neutral for the most part and only generated when "necessary" on other Sims. Afterall, when the game generates randoms, their likes and dislikes could clash greatly with the things they were randomly assigned to wear or the house they were randomly moved into. Then you have those who play the game and have no idea what item falls under what style.

I mainly just make my Sims have likes, but no real dislikes.
