Customize Festivals in the Calendar (Like Seasons Holidays)
I would like to address one major issue in The Sims 4 that has been present for a very long time.
We keep getting many large expansions, and even though some people say that “Royalty and Legacy” might be the last one, no one really knows for sure. However, there is one very big problem in the game — festivals.
We already have a calendar. But festivals overlap with each other, and they happen almost every day. At some point, you just don’t feel like going to them anymore or checking them out, because it happens nearly every day, almost every in-game week. And since there are many expansions, a lot of festivals have accumulated, and all of them are trying to fit into the calendar at the same time.
What I would like:
The ability to manually schedule festivals, just like we can do with holidays from Seasons.
If you don’t like a certain festival, you can remove it and stop receiving constant notifications about it.
There is even a mod that allows this, but it is already outdated, not updated for the latest patches, and I don’t know if it will be updated in the future. In any case, it would be great to have this feature in the base game itself, without needing to rely on third-party mods. If modders were able to do this, then it should be possible in the official game as well.
Additionally, if we could assign festivals to different days and seasons, it would allow different times of the year to truly shine. For example, snowy-themed festivals would make sense in winter, while countryside-themed festivals would fit better in autumn. This way, each festival would feel properly tied to its season, become a special event, and eliminate the overload of endless notifications that currently hurts the experience.
All of this could be implemented through the calendar, similar to how holidays from Seasons work. Technically, this system already exists in the game — it just needs to be extended to festivals. If we could customize festivals individually, that would be amazing.
