Existing Packs needing a Refresh?

We've had a few new kits and packs this year, and while I love the new content, I'm starting to feel like the older packs (Strangerville, Get to Work, etc.) are in need of a refresh. 🤔👍🎉

They could start with the world logos; if you compare them to "Life & Death" and "Lovestruck," their logos are much fuller and, to me, prettier. Adding more cases for the detective career would be helpful, as it is the same thing over and over and can get rather boring. I'd like them to add more careers, especially part-time careers. They could add so many, like dog walker, a paper route (make it available for teenagers), cleaner, etc. There could be so many! 🐶🐱🐕

Add more strange events or situations to Strangerville involving the government and scientists, as once you've gone through the mother plant storyline, that's pretty much it. 👽🔬🧪

But this is just me. Do you think they should refresh older packs? If so, which ones? 🤔❓❔

  • Several packs need a refresh, especially to active careers.

    1. I believe the doctor career should have a new option to work from home that allows the sim to set up a clinic at their house or buy a new clinic venue. They could even make it a specialty clinic for infants and toddlers with cross - compatibility with growing together.
    2. The detective and criminal careers need a refresh so more types of crimes/cases can occur. This would require a lot of cross - compatibility with various packs. For example, criminals might abduct household pets (cats, dogs, and horses) and ransom them to the owners. The detective has to rescue the pet or negotiate the release. Criminals could break into and rob owned business or run a protection money racket. Detectives have to do stakeouts in order to catch the criminal and return the protection money/stolen goods. There could even be an informant NPC who shows up to the police station and gives the detective tip offs about possible crimes.

    3. The scientist career needs more active events. Why isn't the alien party an actual social event where you can invite alien NPCs? Also, Sixam is so bland. Not only is it just a bunch of rocks and collectibles, but NPC alien sims don't even spawn there.  It should be bigger and have actual resident sims that offer community board missions (like cottage living and horse ranch). The astronaut career should have the option to follow sim to work at an actual venue or use the rabbithole.
    4. Seasons should have a skater career with figure skating and roller derby branches. There should be new individual and group routines for each rink object and new CAS items to match each career. The flower arranging skill needs new bouquet recipes. There could be a limited - edition skill book that allows sims to learn how to make ikebana style flower arrangements (snowy escape). Sims now have to travel Mt. Komorebi to visit a special garden shop kiosk in order to purchase exotic flower seed packets. This would add flower harvestables for various types of orchids and other Asian plant species.

    5. Add a museum curator career with historian and archaeologist branches. The historian branch would focus on giving tours, writing articles, making brochures, and increasing venue tourism. It would be base game compatible. The archaeologist branch would focus on finding unique collections and arranging exhibits using a variety of displays. Sims could also hold archaeology classes or take NPCs on field trips to excavation sites. Tasks will vary based on the pack available. More unique collections/relics can be exhibited if packs like jungle adventure, werewolves, and island living are installed.
    6. Add a librarian career and book borrowing system. Sims can now follow their sim to work as a librarian. Tasks would include encouraging NPCs to register for a library card, sending reminders to NPCs to return their books, collecting late fees, moving along NPCs who are hogging computers, and replacing/organizing books on the bookshelves. Libraries will now offer all tiers for skill books, but a library card will be required to access materials. Sims can read books in the library and return them immediately or take them home for a number of days. The sim can have their library card revoked if they accumulate too many late returns/fees.
    7. The writer career needs a refresh. There should be a new illustrator branch that allows sims to combine the writing and painting skills to create new graphic novels and comic books.
    8. The painter career needs a refresh. There should be a graffiti artist branch and there should be more options available for spray painting on surfaces that aren't murals.
    9. Strangerville is one of my least liked packs. However, it might become more interesting if there is a refresh. For example, add occult investigator and occult sim diplomat careers. The occult investigator career would focus on investigating strange occult - related incidents and activities. Tasks could include investigating and unmasking disguised occult sims, hunting down dangerous occult sims such as vampires and werewolves who are going around turning NPCs against their will, and doing home inspections to check if sims are growing suspicious alien plants. The occult sim diplomat career would focus on helping improve relations between occult sims and non - occult sims, helping occult sims move into and assimilate into non - occult sim worlds and neighborhood, and creating more occult sim friendly community venues in non - occult sim areas. Add an active fire fighter career.
    10. Add a martial arts skill and dojo venue for Snowy Escape. The martial arts skill will allow sims to learn and practice various styles of martial arts including: kendo, karate, and taekwondo. For HSY cross - compatibility, there could be a school club and festival for martial arts. There could also be a martial arts tournament social event.
