Family Gameplay Idea: Safe Co-Sleeping, Toddler Bed Options & Nursery Care

I’d love to see more realistic and inclusive family gameplay for babies and toddlers in The Sims 4.

Firstly, it would be great if toddlers could sleep in a bed with an adult Sim, with the animation and description clearly showing safe co-sleeping (e.g. the adult lying still and the toddler sleeping beside them). This would reflect real family routines and offer more flexibility for storytelling and family play.

Secondly, I’d love toddlers to be able to use regular beds, but only if the bed has an anti-roll safety rail attached. This could work similarly to how ladders or add-ons function in Build/Buy. Without the rail, the bed wouldn’t be usable by toddlers, which keeps it realistic and safety-focused.

Finally, it would be amazing if babies and toddlers could be sent to a nursery or childcare setting during the day (up to the toddler life stage). While there, they could passively build skills such as communication, movement, thinking, and imagination, similar to how school works for older Sims. This would really help working-parent households and add depth to early-years gameplay.

Overall, these features would make family gameplay feel more realistic, supportive, and varied, especially for players who enjoy generational storytelling.

Thank you for considering!

  • I would like that too however I think it's hoes the bed is made especially in previous toddlers couldn't sleep in beds so they made toddler beds.

What I would like is toddler taking a nap on parents lap like infants do, or rocking infants and toddlers to sleep before putting them to bed in the rocking chair.

Also when toddlers nap it is so weird I would like a small pillow or blanket on the couch or something I get a sleeping bag but it's like that animation bugs the heck out of me.
