Generational & Rotational Playing - Boarding schools & Uni Options
Hello,
I am new to the forums, I came here to look for ideas to facilitate generational playing and rotational playing. It is good to see that some have already thought of boarding schools. May I add a different thought? It is currently hard -well, nearly impossible - to have large families over multiple generations: In the second generation it is already difficult to see all the kids through school. In addition High School Years is now the buggiest expansion pack. University is a lovely pack, hardly any bugs. However, it currently set up in such a way, that unplayed sims (i.e. every sim in a big family due to rotational playing)- is likely to drop out. -> Many simmers who are drawn to generational or rotational playing do not use or buy this lovely EP.
Two suggestions:
- Boarding schools for various needs for kids an teens. In order to be fair to the emotional needs of "real-life" children, I suggest that a child may return home due to homesickness. (If not enabled for all players - at least as an update to the bugged high school years.
- Update Universities, please: All sims have traits and lifestyles now. Based on that, please establish a system that concerning UNPLAYED sims works in a way that: a) Sims with traits etc that amount to lazy, slacker, disinterested ... have a high chance of dropping out. If they pass, then without impressive marks and it takes them a long time to finish. b) Sims with traits like ambitions, competitive, genious... have a high chance of passing a "basic" degree with good marks in an "average" amount of time. Concerning a "distinguished" degree they might do less well or take longer. c) Any average Sim will just about manage in an "average" time.
Thank you for considering the problem. And thanks, everybody, for your inspiring ideas elsewhere. I loved the idea of a kind of Hogwarts somewhere.
