They may need to have this as a fruit storage with "Grab..." option. So you have to stock the fruit yourself. So Sims could autonomously grab fruit—unless empty—then it is back to just being decor.
It would also be cute with a Spoil On or Off option, and if fruits spoils flies spawn around it XD
Fruit storage would be cool, but I honestly dont mind if it just functions like the cookie jar and cereal box 😋
I was today years old when I learned this is more than another decoration item 😲
