In Game Notifications/Calls HAVE TO STOP!!!!

I know the vast majority of players have complained about this numerous times and continue to be gaslit about it so I thought I would make a thread myself to add to the collective due to the constant gaslighting on the issue.

Sims 4 In game notifications are constant, and pure harassment because they ruin the game experience. Now, the calendar update was supposed to have fixed this problem by letting you filter out what you didn't want to see/be harassed about. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN. Instead, we were given a worthless calendar update to filter things out but that doesn't actually DO anything - we still get the notifications. Make the update COMPLETE like we begged for constantly. We should be able to exclude ALL items in the calendar with either deleting them (and all future iterations of it) or toggling notifications for them. Why can we toggle on/off notifications for cupids corner/social bunny, but NOT be able to do the same for cheerleading/football/tea festival/etc? This is BROKEN.

You know that notification wall? It gets filled nearly exclusively with notifications for these events that are unwanted and we have to constantly stop what we're doing to address these pop ups. The same thing with the phone calls from sims - I don't just want to mute them - I want a SPAM BLOCKER to block all calls that are not relevant (ex of calls that would be relevant would be the school calling about your kid failing school or from your boss about an assignment) but not "hey, I heard you just became friends with "someone" and I think they're a cool person" because WTF? Stop calling me every couple of minutes. I literally get more ads/notifications/spam calls in the game then I do in real life - that is beyond messed up.

But I guess it's my fault? Because I bought too many Sims 4 packs? Maybe I should stop buying any more so I don't get anymore unwanted notifications since you won't fix this. Sure I own nearly all of them other than the worthless kits, but this is the sole reason I'm not buying any again. Bye bye hobby pack - you are not wanted because I'm sure there will just be more spam notifications so why harrass myself for what's probably mediocre gameplay features?

  • You are not incorrect! I will get calls from children, some that are toddlers, giving me news! WTF? First of all, my sims NEVER met your family, second, why would a toddler be using the phone? The messages are often jokes from others my sim has never met, and you are so correct...why would ANYONE call someone to congratulate them for being friends with someone? Yes, I wish there was an option to put the phone on mute, so no more of these messages come thru.

The calendar messages are as irritating as the phone messages. We have a calendar. If I want to go to a festival or event, I can have the sim look at the calendar or in some cases, the community board or message board in the apartment buildings. It interrupts the gameplay constantly. Another thing that should have an option to turn off.

  • I'm so glad that more simmers are making their voices on this matter because it does take away the gameplay what really gets me is the constant job offers when my sim already has the dream job also if a sim is in uni they call offering the job in like no. Also they I'm so glad your friends with...okay thanks. Or the should I have another baby or should I be friends with XYZ or should I go on a date with XYZ my sim barely said hi to you at a community lot and now we're beat friends like...whoa!!?? I don't care.

Also the NAP is annoying as well especially in UNI I'm getting money taking away while in a dorm for not conserving water how when we can't buy anything in uni it's very dumb.

  • Down with gaslighting. Agreed.

The calls are so annoying when your game is perfectly tuned. Super unnecessary 😒 🙂
