Lazy Maxis

So, Maxis has found an easy way out. Instead of actually doing the work, creating a new game that is enhanced and modern hopefully bug free they have found that by just releasing new expansions, stuff packs and kits. We the consumer will keep buying them and be content. It used to be about every 4 years we would get a brand new game that was reworked and tuned to perform even better than the last giving us that Christmas morning feeling. Now all we get are addons to the same core base that is riddle with bugs and outdated content.
The Sims - 2000
The Sims 2 - 2004
The Sims 3 - 2009
 The Sims 4- 2014 - ??
You can clearly see the problem here. My point? Stop feeding into their laziness and force them to build a new product instead of taking your money with ridiculous add on content. At the end of the day, the consumer wins. Also, they promised online play which will not happen until a new base game is actually developed. Just one more thing Maxis has skated over.

I've actually started playing InZoi, because it is new, it is better, and it is not loaded with forced game play.  They do what EA stopped doing, innovating.  Create your own people that look very lifelike, play in a world that looks real, create your own furniture, design your own furnishing sets with matching swatches of wood, cloth, metals, stone, etc.  It's so nice to be able to pick furniture styles you like, then customize their materials so they look like they were made to go together - instead of having a ton of crappy, unmatched garbage and three actual matching sets that look good.  I have an inZoi family that has marble topped dressers and nightstands with a light mahogany wood - because you can change the materials AND the colors.  And you can copy the hex code of the color to make things look more like they were made to go together.  Sure, it's in early release, but it's new, it's good, and the Sims looks so last century by comparison.
