Lovestruck Feedback

Finally The Sims 4 addressed the romantic life of sims, it took nearly 10 years, but here it is: "Lovestruck Expansion Pack"! Let's take a look at how long it took for love to be the main theme of a game expansion in each version of The Sims franchise:

The Sims (2000) it took 22 months for "The Sims: Hot Date" (November, 2001) to be released.
The Sims 2 (2004) it took 12 months for "Nightlife" (September, 2005) to be released.
The Sims 3 (2009) it took 16 months for "Late Night" (October, 2010) to be released.
The Sims 4 (2014) it took 118 months for "Lovestruck" (July, 2024) to be released. WOW!

Now the proper feedback:

- Lovestruck brought back the much needed Turn-On and Turn-Off system.

- The new romantic blanket object presented good romantic interactions on it, "Sit", "Snuggle", "Set Up Picnic" and even "Woohoo".

- Many new romantic interactions were added such as "Steamy Make Out", "Lovingly Dip Kiss", "Ask To Seductive Dance", "Whisper About Desires", "Emotionally Connect", "Share Sweetheart Box" among others.  "Share Sweetheart Box" is perhaps the best original romantic interaction presented by this expansion pack:

The very funny "Goose" romantic interaction was also brought back, but it looks like the funnier part of it, the unpredictable reaction of sims witnessing the interaction is not there, or maybe I didn't use it enough to notice it.

- The ability to have and drive a car unfortunately was not brought back.

- The romantic relationship satisfaction concept is a very good addition to the game, but it seems to be needing a fine tuning, because it looks like all romantic relationships demand the same level of attention, it doesn't matter if your sim's partner is his wife, girlfriend, or just a "booty call". People in a steady romantic relationship like a wife or girlfriend are expected to demand more attention from their partners. But those involved in a casual romantic relationship are not.

- The broken heart death... well, that's the worst part of Lovestruck expansion pack, it seems designed to kill every sim who falls in love. If people constantly experience failures in their love life, they will probably become sad and even depressed, but dying because of that is a little too much. If developers wanted to kill sims because of a broken heart it would make more sense for that to happen after a sim lived through  successive breakups in his romantic relationships. But in the game it suffices to be "very unsatisfied" in a romantic relationship and when the sim tries to improve it...he dies of a broken heart.

I believe it is a good expansion pack, from "0" to "10" I would give it a "7".

The Sims 2 still remains the best version of the franchise.
