Make Attic Rooms actual rooms!

Right now, I can't find a way to make an attic room in which the lights turn on. This happens, because the game isn't recognizing the attic rooms as rooms because of the walls.

I've tried using half-walls, but the game doesn't recognize half-walls as a room, with or without a ceiling.

Please make Attic Rooms a type of room!

Thank you!

  • This would be incredibly helpful for me as well. Real houses have attic rooms, so I feel like, if we could do that too, that would be great.

  • Would REALLY appreciate it if this would also apply to multi-story rooms, as I like to have a stairwell with a 2-story foyer in the entrance to grander houses, and now that we have royals/castle, 2-story ballrooms with fancy staircases, the second story should still count as a "room", even without a floor, not as outside. Also, it won't let me place certain items (example, robot vacuum) in these types of rooms, either, as it considers them "outside".

I think you need to build a ceiling for the rooms. It's also possible that the way you drew the rooms, they are not actually rooms recognized as such by the game. It could also be a bug, as I also have a house where the game doesn't recognize an upstairs landing and hallway as being indoors.

  • You can build attic rooms, by building actual rooms with regular walls in the attic space under the roof. Need to be creative with roof building, so as not to block view during gameplay.

New wall type : Half wall with Slanted Wall expansion (45°) - compatible with wallpaper, window and paintings

It would be nice to get stuff fitted to the roof (dresser, closet, bookshelf, shelves,  ...)

I think you would need to make the fitted furniture to fit a certain angle of roof. Might be difficult to do just for one angle though because the angle changes depending on the building.

It could also be put under staircase.

Under stairs shelves would be nice, or a wardrobe, or utility closet of some sort. And speaking of stairs, I would really love if they fixed the width of stairs to match the one tile wall, it's so annoying when you want to have a straight wall, but end up with the little bump where the stairs meet the wall.
