Missed opportunity items

I felt like posting something light hearted and fun, and so I came up with this idea, a list of things that you feel were missed opportunities that have - or have not - made it into the game later. Now I'm not talking gameplay or core features but minor things and items that you feel could have been natural in one pack that weas introduced in some other pack.

I'll start:

Get to work:

  • browsable clothes rack (HSY)
  • changing booth with whoohoo options (?)

Outdoor retreat:

  • Sleeping bags (GrT)
  • Picknick basket (CoL)
  • Picknick blanket (LS)
  • Bear rug (LS)
  • Pitchable tent (?)

My Wedding Stories:

  • Nectar making (HoR)

Horse Ranch:

  • Rocking horse (?)

Hmm... With the funny tag, I think I'm going to mostly share non-important ones...

    Growing Together

A monopoly-like board game to strain family dynamics and ruin friendships.

    Get Together

Special reward traits that do nothing but allow sims to join clubs that have it required.

    Seasons

New Year's resolution to pet 10 different animals.

    Outdoor Retreat

Forest rabbit hole where sims can get lost in and be away for days.

    High School Years

Just add the ability to make custom posts. I want to rant about townie fashion there!

    Parenthood

Just put automatic punishments to children making a mess in public.

    Horse Ranch

Experimental Nectar that has a random effect. Go on, take your chance.

Monopoly and a get lost in the forest rabbit-hole. I'm excited that the board game in Lovestruck slots to surfaces and isn't an entire table. I hope we get more like this in the future. The tables - chess included - take up too much space to use them on residential lots, but you need games for so many things!

  • Werewolves:

    • Electric guitars (?)

    Realm of Magic:

    • Having the animals from Cottage Living and Horse Ranch be familiars
    • Fortune telling/ Ghost whisperer: Medium skill (Paranormal)
    • Mineral powers: Gemology skill (Crystal Creation)
    • Dragonology (?)

    Island Living:

    • Charity after school activity (we have charity in the game through the phone but not as an after school activity)

    Base Game:

    • Chess tornaments (maybe later in a hobbies pack idk)
    • Pool parties (For rent): this should have released with the pool update imo
    • Changing tables (Growing Together): there's no reason to not have at least one changing table in BG

    My wedding Stories:

    • Freelancer Wedding Photographer

    Home Chef Hustle:

    • Rice cookers (For rent)
    • Keetles (For rent)

Any expansion with strong cultural influence (Island Living, Cottage Living, Horse Ranch, Snowy Escape, For rent):

    • Music instruments (?)

It would be so nice to get some multi-cultural instruments!

  • Seasons:

    • Ice Hockey (Winter)
    • Street Hockey (Spring - Summer - Fall)

    Snowy Escape:

    • Alpine Rescue Teams
    • Search & Rescue Helicopters
    • Avalanche Danger

If we got helicopters before we got cars. 😂

  • For rent/cool kitchen

    • rolled ice cream machine. It's a Thai style of making ice cream and it's delicious. EA misses out on adding recipes and appliances for cultural themes.

    Jungle Adventure

    • coffee beans. I mean most coffee beans are grown in South America. Coffee makers and espresso machines should have a fresh ingredient option.

    Horse Ranch

    • nectar making. I'd like to point out that Dine Out introduced nectar on the restaurant menu, but it wasn't until horse ranch that nectar became craftable. And apparently, you can't craft dine out nectar recipes.

    Home chef

    • I would've liked to see a crepe maker, off the grid brick pizza oven, and a deli slicer for making sandwiches. The current appliances are great though.

    Growing together

    • there should be way more toddler and infant activities (not just small toys). Interactive objects like walkers, strollers, and play centers.

    Get to work

    • Aliens should've been expanded into an actual occult sim with ranks, perks, and powers. Sixam should've been made into a destination world, and the astronaut career should be an active career.

    Vampires, Werewolves, ROM

    • there is a cool mod that allows sims to become vampire slayers; they can fight other occults as well. However, EA should've introduced an occult hunter/investigator career. I mean, if you have a bunch of evil occult sims menacing the public, there should be someone out there whose job it is to put them back in line. Apparently, GTW detectives don't do anything in gameplay unless you play the active career.

    Kids room

    • void critters should be real creatures (similar to cottage living wildlife). Sims should be able to befriend/tame void critters and raise them like pets. I mean, kids aren't the only ones who would enjoy void critters. Also, void critters should be compatible with ROM so they can become familiars.

    Vintage Glamour

    • The pack should've included a functional rotary telephone (so sims don't have to use the phone menu) and gramphone stereo. And as for the vanity feature, similar to creating a styled look in CAS, sims should be able to create a makeup face template on the vanity. Then sims can apply a whole template at once, instead of picking each individual feature.

Island Living (especially since the emphasis is on indigenous culture and not resorts)
    hula
    Ukulele instrument skill
    Surfing
    poi
Hidden underwater world unlocked with mermaid interaction

    Get To Work
mini adventure in Sixam that unlocks it as a destination or livable world on completion

    Vampires
Vampire Hunter career. Now,  I know the game doesn’t allow one sim to kill another, but vampire hunters could be about identifying vampires (research is already in the game) making a cure (already in game) and convincing vampires to turn back or capturing them.

    RoM and High School Years
Cross pack compatibility for a magic school

The main one that I am remembering is how we got soy plants in eco lifestyle, the pack was about being mindful about the environment so I expected us to be able to make meat-free alternatives from the soy plants... since soy beans is a common ingredient in plant based meat.

Instead of that, we got a bizarre meat wall, it's a thing irl but it's much less common and it's also done in bacteria free lab environments.

  • I feel like there was already so many packs that could have come with functional elevator based on theme alone

even Lovestruck could have had them because woohoo but no still no functional elevators to use in place of stairs

also I'm forever upset about every cave that doesn't lead anywhere

even if say sulani cave doesn't have its own secret lot it still could have lead to forgotten grotto at least

and don't get me started on one in FORGOTTEN hollow why is that cave just decor come on
