More eye colours and a genetic component

Hello fellow Simmers and EA!

I have loved playing the Sims for many years now and I would like to share a few ideas to make the game more interesting.

  • Firstly, it would be nice if we had more options for the Sims' eyes. Right now it is quite limited and there are very few details, whereas in real life people's eyes are one of the most striking features. They're called the window to the soul for a reason, so why not add some details regarding the eye shape and colour to make a Sim stand out?
  • Secondly, I am missing the genetic inheritance component. When Sims procreate, their child inherits random traits from their parents, whereas in real life, genetics dictate the chances of a child inheriting certain traits from their ancestors. For example, in reality, the child of one parent with brown hair and brown eyes (dominant traits) and one parent with blond hair and blue eyes (recessive traits) is more likely to feature dominant traits. There is no difference between dominant and recessive genes in the Sims 4, which I think is a shame. Also, the genes of grandparents could be taken into account, which could result in parents having a child with blue eyes even though they both have brown eyes. This would be an interesting feature to have in the Sims 4.

Am I the only one who has been thinking about these features? Do you think these additions would make the Sims more enjoyable? Please let me know!

Cheers,

Charlie
