More Traditional Clothing in The Sims

I’d really love to see The Sims add more traditional clothing from around the world. It would open up so many possibilities for storytelling and cultural builds. As a Portuguese‑Canadian, I’d love to see outfits inspired by both continental Portuguese folk clothing and Azorean traditions — but I’m not asking only for my own culture. I’d love to see more traditional clothing from around the world in general.

Since Verdemar in Ondarion from the Royalty and Legacy expansion pack is already based on the Azores and continental Portugal, I was a bit disappointed not to see any traditional clothing from my people represented. The architecture and atmosphere are clearly inspired by Portuguese and Azorean culture, so having the folk outfits — like those used in countria, chamarrita, and other regional traditions — would make the world feel much more complete.

If a culture is relevant enough to inspire a world’s architecture, geography, and atmosphere, then it’s relevant enough to include the clothing that actually represents that culture.

  • As a Cuban girl, I would really love cultural clothes! I try to make my sims look authentic, but I just can't get them fully accurate. Examples of traditional clothes from my culture are "Sombrero de yarey" aka a yarey hat and traditional dresses.

Of course these clothes could also be used for Traditional Social Events.

Traditional clothing is tied to ... Holiday Traditions.

So the calendar really needs an option to set outfits, for example Oktoberfest Celebration.
