Pack Idea: Galactic Invasion

This expansion pack would add depth to the Alien Sims, making them more complex and enjoyable to play, with new challenges and abilities that reflect their extraterrestrial origins. It would also offer a wealth of new content and gameplay options for all players, whether they're exploring space or just trying to keep their neighborhood safe from alien invasions!

New World: Xenotopia

  • A mysterious alien world with advanced technology and unique flora and fauna.
  • Explore new neighborhoods, each featuring distinct alien species and cultures.
  • New build/buy items inspired by futuristic and extraterrestrial designs.

New Gameplay Features:

  • Alien Abduction Events: More frequent and interactive abductions where Sims can explore alien ships, make deals with extraterrestrials, or even escape from captivity.
  • Hybrid Offspring: Alien-Sim hybrids with unique traits and abilities, leading to interesting genetic combinations and gameplay mechanics.
  • Space Travel: Sims can build or purchase spaceships to explore the galaxy, visit alien worlds, and bring back rare collectibles.
  • Alien Careers: New career paths such as "Intergalactic Diplomat," "Space Explorer," and "Alien Scientist."
  • TARDIS (Time Traveling Device): Available in Build & Buy mode, the TARDIS allows Sims to time travel, unlocking new experiences and altering the future. Sims can visit past or future worlds, interacting with historical or futuristic settings that shape their present.

New Occult Sim: Plumbots

In addition to the Alien Sims, the expansion introduces Plumbots, highly advanced robotic Sims who bring new opportunities for futuristic gameplay. Plumbots can be customized and upgraded to perform various tasks, from household chores to advanced engineering.

Plumbot Features:
  • Customizable Modules: Similar to traits, Plumbots can be outfitted with various chips that determine their abilities, from cleaning and gardening to advanced hacking and social interactions.
  • Plumbot Maintenance: Plumbots require occasional maintenance to ensure peak performance, including charging and software upgrades.
  • Human-Robot Interaction: Plumbots have unique interactions with other Sims, from forming relationships to taking on household roles or even running businesses.

New Occult Sim Abilities Panel: Alien Sims

Alien Sims will now have a dedicated ability panel where they can gain and upgrade new abilities as they level up or complete specific tasks. This panel functions similarly to the Vampire Powers or Spellcaster Spellbook.

Abilities Include:
  1. Telepathy: Allows aliens to communicate silently with other Sims, influencing their emotions or actions.
  2. Mind Control: Gain control over other Sims’ actions for a limited time, perfect for mischief or strategic planning.
  3. Shape-shifting: Aliens can temporarily disguise themselves as other Sims or even objects to blend in or play pranks.
  4. Bioluminescence: Emit a calming or intimidating glow that affects the moods of nearby Sims.
  5. Regeneration: Aliens can heal themselves or other Sims from injuries or negative moods instantly.
  6. Technopathy: Control electronic devices remotely, causing malfunctions or enhancing their functions.
  7. Advanced Teleportation: Instantly move to any location within the world, bypassing all physical barriers.
  8. Psionic Shield: Protect themselves or others from negative effects, such as curses or mind control from other aliens.
  9. Galactic Knowledge: Access to unique alien recipes, inventions, and technologies that provide various gameplay benefits.
  10. Cosmic Influence: Change the weather, time of day, or even the mood of an entire area by tapping into cosmic forces.
Leveling Up Abilities:
  • Abilities can be upgraded by completing specific missions or challenges related to alien lore, such as "Conducting Experiments on Earth" or "Exploring Alien Ruins."
  • New tiers of powers unlock as the Sim gains experience, offering stronger versions or entirely new abilities.

New Alien Traits:

  • Cosmic Curiosity: Gain faster skill learning and unique interactions when exploring alien worlds or studying space-related objects.
  • Starseeker: A Sim with a deep connection to the stars, granting them extra abilities when stargazing or using telescopes.
  • Alien Royalty: Descended from an alien royal line, these Sims have increased social standing among aliens and unique interactions with otherworldly beings.

New Plumbot Traits:

  • Efficient Processor: Plumbots work faster and more effectively, completing tasks in less time with fewer breakdowns.
  • Human Emulator: This trait allows Plumbots to closely mimic human emotions and social interactions, making them ideal companions or entertainers.
  • Self-Sustaining: Plumbots with this trait have longer battery life and require less frequent maintenance, making them independent for extended periods.

New Aspirations:

  • Galactic Emperor/Empress: Aspire to unite the galaxy under your rule through diplomacy, conquest, or cunning.
  • Star Explorer: Journey through the cosmos, discovering new planets, species, and secrets of the universe.
  • Master of Time: With access to the TARDIS, this Sim seeks to control time itself, exploring different eras and altering their destiny.
  • Plumbot Master: Aspire to create the perfect Plumbot companion or workforce, upgrading and maintaining them to perfection.

This Galactic Invasion expansion pack brings rich new gameplay for Sims, focusing on the exploration of alien worlds, time travel, and the integration of Plumbots as a new occult type. Alien Sims gain exciting new abilities, while players can dive deeper into the mysteries of space and beyond. Whether uniting the galaxy or tinkering with futuristic bots, this expansion offers something for everyone!

Sounds like an awesome pack. I would be interested to see a livable alien world. And of course many futuristic furniture pieces and clothing items.

While the idea is interesting, I can't help but mention that as aliens come from Get to Work expansion pack, it would effectively be DLC for DLC.

Aliens need improvements though, that I agree with. That's why I want Get to Work refresh.

It doesn't have to be DLC for DLC. In sims 3 we got 2 types of robots (into the future and ambitions EP)  they were two different lifestates, independent from one another. We also got two packs with vampires (late night and supernatural). Either pack would be enough to play with vampires. In sims 2 you could get a zombie with university or free time. In sims 4 we don't have that situation with occults but the fox in cottage living works independently from cats and dogs.

The universe is so big and vast, I can imagine more than one planet offering alien life forms. I would like to see aliens with tentacles on their heads or fins.

        Hmm... Yes...

The thing with The Sims 2 was that you couldn't make occult sims in CAS, so you could easily bring them to the base game and lock turning into them in packs.

The two different types of robots, I see the point. Yet even then we would have two different types of aliens: Get to Work's old boring aliens and new pack's new customizable awesome aliens. Not to mention Get to Work already has lost some value after Photography skill was brought into the base game (and some outfits too).

But yeah, Get to Work would benefit from a refresh in my opinion.

They have added before same thing in different packs, so don't see how this would be DLC for DLC. They would work great together, but  just as well independently from one another. Besides Get to Work comes with a tiny alien world, the new pack could bring a much bigger world and some cool space ships and other cool features to make it really interesting. Get to Work needs lots of fixes, but to make it really good, a simple refresh is not enough. Retail, Space/science and police/criminals should have been their own EPs.

Get to Work has already lost some of its original value by having Photography skill brought to the base game. If we'd bring the alien life state to the base game, you'd remove one entire key point from the pack. If we'd add new more improved alien life state, you'd just make the existing ones more inferior and less played, also removing value from Get to Work.

Expansion Packs should have a more wider focus while Game Packs should have more focus on one thing. That's why we're getting complaints that "X ep should have been a game pack". Not to mention that pumping out more and more expansion packs just reduce brand loyalty, which is especially important as The Sims is finally getting some competition (EA is making a good move there by releasing older games). Do not take Get to Work features and separate them into separate packs. Not everyone likes spending their money.

I kind of miss older The Sims expansion packs as you can see...

Yes please to all the above.  Plus, Time Traveling in a Simmish TARDIS.
