This is NOT factually correct.
The ability to duplicate worlds or copy worlds existed much longer than the bug that duplicated worlds.
These are two totally different things.
So while I agree that the glitch needs a fix it is not the same as removing the ability to copying worlds.
Other games, older Sims games, and more also use a form of copying worlds/environments all the time. This is not a glitch or bug, nor is it game-breaking by itself.
I used duplicated worlds for a very long time in The Sims 4 too. I never had issues with it. And I use a ton of mods, I use Sims 4 Studio, I rip out more than half of the environment, repaint it, and more.
On the other hand, I had the glitch of duplicated worlds one time.
BUT it was fairly easy to fix. Even more so because there is a MOD out there that fixes it and even deletes that world for you.
I also want to inform you that "DUPLICATED WORLDS" was not fixed.
They only wrote a script that seemingly force-merges it. -> Meaning you cannot see the other world.
BUT it is still there.
This is also the reason that a lot of players now have the issue that they have the wrong duplicated world, their game crashes, their Sims disappear, their lots load empty, and more.
Many have also resorted to using the MOD to fix the "fix" for DUPLICATED WORLDS.
My recommendation to make it a FEATURE is basically similar to Build a World, where you select the world you want to copy -> this is the terrain. If they wanted to go further, they could actually also include choosing lot sizes, seasons, some recolors of the terrain, or decorating it how you want. None of that would be game-breaking, nor very hard to implement with how The Sims 4 is built.
This is not meant to be rude, but it just sounds like:
- You have no clue.
- You don't care because it doesn't affect you.
So, While I am a bit distressed that my years of work were thrown in the dump.
And I cannot fix it without the original code.
I never even complained about anything they do. I always fix things myself. But this right now is a serious issue because The Sims 4 is a simulation game and is for creativity and world-building.
And not just putting random houses on lots.
I am also pretty sure they only wrote a script to force-merge it because I tested around to get mine back and first thought it was a script that deletes any duplicated worlds when you start the game.
Yet, poof, I made them switch.
I still thank you that at least 1 person did answer but this was just ignoring the reality..
I did put it into the bug report as well but it was deleted.
It as well was deleted in here at first.
Interesstingly everyone else that use copy worlds for their sims 4 also get shut down or their post get deleted.
To me that seems a bit strange lol

This very much comes across as rude.

I wonder why that may be, if it's being deleted then it's usually a signal that it's not meant to happen.

It wasn't ignoring reality, it was stating that the world duplication is a bug and not something that should be in the game.

The Sims 4's engine wasn't really designed like older Sims games. The worlds in The Sims 4 behave in a much different way to older Sims games.

I'm direct and harsh in words, yes. thats still not trying to be rude.
because this is an issue. and it get flatten into "its a bug" while it is not.SimulationBuilds wrote:

while this is correct, at least by how they choose to build it, the suggestions I gave works inside the limitation of sims 4.

its normally a sign that people responsable doesnt want to face it and doesnt want to fix it nor even look at it.
its not the first time they do this.
