The Flea Market Desperately Needs an Update!

If I'm not mistaken, the Flea Market in San Myshuno hasn't been updated since the expansion's release (9 years ago!), which is really disappointing because over time the potential of this festival has been wasted. Until recently, I used a mod that added furniture from later expansions to the street vendors' inventory, and it was wonderful! But now I've decided to stop using that mod, and all the magic of visiting the flea market has simply vanished!

I'm tired of constantly seeing the same furniture that was released 10 years ago. I dream of being able to discover items at the flea market that I normally overlook in build mode - items that might inspire me to start using them. The game has quite a few mechanics that the developers have abandoned, but I feel particularly sad about the flea market.

  • It makes sense a flea market selling almost 10 years old stuff ...

I agree , for example it would be nice to find some objects from Basement Treasures Kit.

  • I see what you mean. I also feel like this event has SO much cool potential but it has just been left to die. I recently tried to sell stuff at the flea market for the first time and had not one visitor/buyer even though I followed all of the steps for the sale. Having it fully fleshed out would lead to some great gameplay and community building - not to mention great for saving the Sims "planet"!

I don't mind that the objects at the market are old, but after all these years, it would be nice to have some element of surprise and give that awesome vintage find feel to the market. It just seems underwhelming that you know already what furniture items you are going to find at the market because they are always the same.
