I thought that with Dynasty Ideals/Skills that if a Sim Disliked them they wouldn't do them? I was starting a new test save and I am having one of my Sims doing Gardening (Nature-Loving/Gardening skills are selected for this Dynasty), and she does keep doing gardening despite disliking it (she is suppose to be the outcast (non-nature like and doesn't like dirt aka Neat) so her doing this is odd).
Meanwhile, even with the cooldowns Sims keep obsessing with at least Cross-Stitching. Only one likes Cross-Stitching and I wish I could keep the Cross-Stitch box in her inventory but she won't autonomously Cross-Stitch if it is there, and weird that Knitting (which she also likes) won't be autonomous and it has to be in her inventory to do it.
Please, hobbies/skill activities autonomy really should determined by "Likes" (and if applicable personality traits). And at the very least not do "Disliked" hobbies/skill activities. I truly believe this is a very needed overhaul/refresh for the game.
My only saving grace from not having a meltdown, is that I use a skill lock mod to at least I can keep these skills out of the other Sims' skill panel (but the mod is no longer maintained and not up to date with all skills). But this is merely band-aide and traits including likes/dislikes need to really add unique autonomy.
