Unlock the Positivity Challenge Rewards for All Players

I've been thinking about the exclusive items and trait tied to the now-unavailable Positivity Challenge. While the challenge was a great event, its exclusive rewards now limit gameplay options for players who missed it, lost their save game, or started playing after it ended.

What area of gameplay is your feedback about?

  • Aspirations & Traits
  • Rewards & Objects (Gift Pile, Posters)
  • Game Events / Legacy Content

What works well right now?
The concept of time-limited challenges that reward unique items is exciting and can build community engagement. The rewards themselves are well-designed and thematic. The "Kindness Ambassador" trait is a unique social boost, and the "Challenge Aspiration" provides a fun, alternative goal. The Gift Pile and posters are great decorative items that fit a specific cozy, positive aesthetic.

What isn’t working or feels frustrating?
The major frustration is that meaningful gameplay content is permanently locked away. New players, or those who simply couldn't participate at the time, or those who lost their saves have no way to access these rewards without cheats. This creates a permanent gap in available content. It's particularly frustrating because these aren't just cosmetic items; the "Kindness Ambassador" trait is a significant gameplay mechanic that affects social interactions, and the Challenge Aspiration is a whole new goal for Sims to pursue. This feels unfair and limits creative options for a large portion of the player base.

What new ideas or improvements would you suggest?
I suggest making the Positivity Challenge rewards available to all players through a permanent, in-game method. Here are a few ways this could be done:

  • Aspiration Reward Store: Add the "Kindness Ambassador" trait to the Aspiration Reward Store for a high number of Satisfaction Points (e.g., 5,000 points). This would allow dedicated players to "earn" them through regular gameplay.
  • Base Game Integration: Simply add the Challenge Aspiration to the base game's list of aspirations and make the trait obtainable through a new, difficult social-based whim or lifetime goal.

Why would this improve your gameplay experience?
Unlocking this content would be a significant improvement for several reasons:

  • Fairness & Accessibility: It would ensure all players, regardless of when they started playing, have access to the same core gameplay options like traits and aspirations.
  • Enriches Gameplay: It would reintroduce fun and useful content back into the active game, giving players more ways to tell stories, especially those focused on kindness, charity, and social influence.
  • Reduces FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out): It would create a healthier game environment where players don't feel permanently penalized for not participating in a past event or for losing their saves they worked hard on.
  • Maximizes Content Value: The developers put effort into creating this content; making it available again ensures it gets used and appreciated by the entire community for years to come.

This change would be a welcome move toward making The Sims 4 a more inclusive and complete experience for every player.

  • I would love to see these sorts of challenges as well (as the new timed events) integrated into the Scenarios feature! So that you can go back and play the challenge and get the rewards when it makes sense for your gameplay and for you as a player.

  • I was just asking for this in a different thread last week. As a player who joined the game after the Positivity Challenge, it's always bothered me that this is a part of the game that I haven't been able to experience. It's been years since the event ended, so people who participated at the time have had a lot of time to enjoy the exclusivity of the earned rewards. I therefore don't think it will harm anyone's perception of the game or of exclusivity if the challenge were unlocked again as something that could be played through. It seems terribly unfair that people who didn't discover the game at the time this event happened will never be able to play it.

The same rule should also apply to other timed events and challenges: leave them exclusive for a few years after they've happened, and then unlock them for everyone so that people who didn't know or hadn't started the game at the time will have a chance to enjoy them. The Sims team has made all of these wonderful events, and so, we should be able to keep enjoying the fruits of that work and creativity into the future. That would be a great way of adding some positivity into the game, and it shouldn't be too much of a challenge!

  • I am also in favour of them bringing back these events. They could bring them back as scenarios, or play on demand event type gameplay.

  • There shouldn't be any missable stuff ( event, preorder things.... ) Release these after a while.
