When you rebirth a sim the sim disappears from existence

I had a beloved sim that died and if that couldnt get any worse i realised she was nowhere to be seen in any of their children's relationships.

I found out via the web that they arent recoverable and i feel like they still should be because rebirthing is just a gameplay trait for the sim i rebirthed my dead sim into, its nothing life changing yk.

She's still in the family tree so if you have any idea on how i can somehow transfer a sim from the family tree into the real sims world that would be greatly appreciated luv u xx

  • Yeah it's similar to if a ghost has been "culled"; they're gone from the relationship panel. Your sim's children will be able to recognise a "strange connection" to your reborn sim though, and they can still mourn at their original grave or urn.

I agree that it would be a lovely addition to be able to hold funerals even if the dead sim is reborn or has been culled. I'd like to be able to hold memorial events for sims who have passed on to the "great beyond". The problem is the ghost is meant to show up to the funeral though.

As a workaround, if you have Seasons, I sometimes name a holiday after my fave sims as a memorial day. I use "attend ceremony" and "remembrance" as two of the activities. The sims go off as if to a memorial service, and interact with the sim's grave. I used to do this before we had funerals.

On a second thought i dont think its a bug but i still think it should be here because it was coded this way and i believe they need to change it so you can have funerals
