WHY in Business and Hobbies can we only sell items placed on special shelving??

I just found out that in order to sell anything in this DLC, it must be placed on the provided shelving units. I own Get to Work, and in that pack you can mark items for sale regardless of what they'...

I have noticed some retail restrictions in this EP as well. 

I feel like GTW's retail system along with City Livings Come and Get It street store table offer more control in what you can sell as a vendor or business owner.
