There wouldn't be any benefit as every single animation would have to be reworked to reflect a significant height change. Same with any teen heights. I use a height mod for teens that only make them slightly less taller than an adult, which doesn't effect the animations in looking off putting.

Sure there would. With some kind of rebalancing of the appearance of young Sims, our characters wouldn't magically transform from young children to almost-adult teens. That's the benefit.
Whether it's worth the effort (reworking "every single animation") is a separate issue from whether or not there would be a benefit.

dbmcgrew Why did you only just take that one single piece form my quote without the context?
There would NOT be any benefit unless every animation had to be reworked.
If they would have did this near the beginning of the life of the game when there was so much to do it would have been fine. Now, there's not considering things like the family trees are finally being fixed and addressed after so long. Other than looks and aesthetic purposes for those that want them to look a certain way which is the only benefit to them there's really nothing else.

And yes, the game's animations would have to be reworked, but that is part of the cost of making this improvement. And maybe the cost–benefit analysis indicates that the improvement isn't worth doing. But the cost doesn't mean that there is no benefit.

dbmcgrew, highlighting on one phrase is seen as cherrypicking and gives people like myself a very negative impression of the person doing the cherrypicking. It continually given a bad impression of certain types of individuals, but I suspect that was the purpose. Personally, I will either quote the ENTIRE message or just @ the username.
Btw, It is valid to say that there is no actual benefits to adding a preteen stage to a game that is currently over a decade old, since it launched in 2014. There is significant cost to creating animations to yet another body frame size, creating CAS assets to yet another frame size, and creating significant unique gameplay features for that new frame. They are barely putting money into the current packs if what I have seen via the early access videos is something to go by. The Sims franchise may be EA's cash cow, but they certainly are not giving it the same amount of financial love that it brings in by revenue.
