What happens when the bug occurs? It displays the error code and encourages me to restart the game

Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? No
The System is not only allowing me to play one of my loaded games, but it is also not allowing me to play one of the characters in the game I have access to. The sim is grey in the control panel as if they aren't in the house when they are clearly walking around. Not sure if these two instances are linked together but it all started happening this morning.
