Wanna confirm that it's not just me ... since updating today, the game is completely unplayable. Wallpapers show up with the weird circus question mark wrap, and loading households causes the game to crash. Could be a mod issue, but want to see if other people are having this issue.
Please remove your mods/cc and test without.
I would also do a game repair for the question mark issue.
Yep. Game keeps crashing when the load screen comes on (after initial load). Removed all mods and started a new game without any and so far it’s working. Ugh
Does the old save work without mods/cc ?

It's not just you. I can't get into my game at all. EA says there's a problem with my game's setup and that I have to reinstall. I've tried clearing cache, repairing the game, uninstalling and reinstalling the app and nothing is working. My Sims 3 game won't launch either. My other games in my EA library seem to be working, though, so this is only Sims related. I really hate these updates.
I can play, but I had to turn off all my mods, and now cheats aren't working. Not all of them, but even with testingcheats true activated (it DID say 'cheats are enabled') I still only have a severely limited shift-click menu. Hhhrggg

What platform are you playing on ? Probably best if you make your own thread in one of the tech forums.

What error are you seeing exactly ? Can you load to the main menu ? Did you delete the localthumbcache file ?
I cant get into any of my saved games. The loading screen goes on and on and on. I repaired my game and tried multiple times. I don't have mods or cc. My game was perfectly fine until I updated it.
Do you have any LastException files in Documents\Electronic Arts\The Sims 4 ?
Best is to delete the ones you have, then trigger the error and check if new ones are created.

Deleting the file won't fix your issue. Uploading the file is meant for troubleshooting.
EA has just killed sims 4 with the 9/18/2024 update, my game so bad when i go to play, click on family i want to play and go to bed 8 hours later still loading the save file, 8 hours of loading screen, does EA test these updates or do they just put them out there and see what nightmare comes out of it? you would think a game that makes them money they would make sure every update and add-on would work right. had to force game to quit from computers task manager no other way to stop it, and the way EA works the game will be broken for the next year or two or if a modder out there can fix what EA has done to the game, i hope a modder can fix the game because EA game only knows how to break the game then fix the game, you would think a $1000.00 game would have no problems, i have done repair, uninstall, deleted the fold, reset computer reinstall sims 4 and still broken, ( Please some nice modder please fix sims 4 ) because we all know EA can't fix anything with sims 4 they only know how the break the game.
